The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at improving the visa application process.

The traditional visa sticker on passports will be replaced with an electronic visa system, allowing beneficiaries to access their visa data via a QR code.

This new system will be rolled out in the first phase across seven countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of consular services by automating and streamlining visa procedures, including work, residence, and visit visas.
